Syracuse, N.Y. -- Caden Brown, a second-year linebacker and second-generation Syracuse football player, said that he plans to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2.

In a message on social media announcing his intention, Brown thanked both Syracuse coaches and Orange fans.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Brown played just 24 snaps this season for the Orange. He played nine on defense and 15 on special teams. Those snaps came over the course of four games, preserving his redshirt season. He was credited with one tackle.

He played in 11 games as a true freshman in 2024, making three tackles.

Brown came to Syracuse as a three-star prospect and the No. 717 recruit in the country in the Class of 2024, according to the 247Sports national composite rankings. H
