LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Corrections Officers are helping kids stay bundled up this holiday season.
The 45th annual “Coat A Kid” shopping trip happened Monday morning.
Members of FOP Lodge 77 helped dozens of students from Roosevelt-Perry Elementary shop at the Meijer on Preston Highway.
Each kid loaded up their cart with a new coat, clothes and toys.
WAVE talked to the FOP chapter president about how they raised the funds.
“We, through our fundraising throughout the year, we collect money, we accept donations, we run a bingo session every Thursday evening at 7 to midnight, and a lot of fundraising funds come from that,” FOP Lodge 77 President Rodger Ledrick.
Corrections Officers shopped for about 75 students Monday morning.
