Investigators have identified the victim shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting in Manchester early Saturday as a 24-year-old city man.

An autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Nickenley Turenne’s cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was homicide, Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall said in a joint statement.

Homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

At 4:43 a.m. Saturday, Manchester Police responded to the area of South Mammoth Road near the Green Acres Elementary School for a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers reported finding a male sleeping in the driver’s seat and a female asleep in the passenger seat.
