COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Two Texas teams have made the College Football Playoffs and for once one of them doesn't reside in Austin.
The 12-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders secured the No. 4 seed in the playoffs and have a bye for the first round. They'll play in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 2026, in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The 11-1 Texas A&M Aggies fell to the No. 7 seed after finishing the season losing to the Longhorns, costing them a spot in the SEC Championship. They will play the 10-2 Miami Hurricanes on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. in College Station.
