MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Governor Tony Evers signed Bradyn’s Law into effect Monday afternoon.
The new law focuses on making sexual extortion a crime in Wisconsin.
The bill was created in honor of the late 15-year-old Bradyn Bohn, a high school student from the Wausau area who died by suicide earlier this year after becoming the victim of a sexual extortion predator .
Bohn’s family were inspired to advocate for the passing of the law after Bohn’s death, hoping to penalize sexual extortion predators.
Bradyn’s family, friends, and loved ones were joined by school district personnel, elected officials, and community members as Gov. Evers signed the bill into law.
