KALAMAZOO, MI –– Lance Taylor isn’t leaving Western Michigan anytime soon.

On the heels of guiding Western Michigan football to its fourth Mid-American Conference championship, the third-year head coach inked a new five-year contract that is set to pay him over $1 million annually, as first reported by The Detroit News.

“Lance Taylor has brought a culture of excellence that is reflected in the program’s marked improvement in all areas since the start of his tenure,” Western Michigan athletic director Dan Bartholomae said in a WMU release. “Coach Taylor leads with his heart and has shown a commitment to the development of our athletes as people, in the classroom and in the community.
