CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — As the days and nights grow colder, staff at Andreas Heating and Cooling in Lehighton are getting lots of service calls.

"A lot of no-heat calls, just things breaking down, it's the first time a lot of these units have ran so far this year, so a lot of aged equipment going down," said Eric Bemis, Andreas Heating and Cooling Install Manager.

Eric Bemis is the install manager. He says the first cold snap of the season is always a busy time.

Experts say if you are supplementing your heat with items like a space heater, there are some things to keep in mind.

"Especially if someone is having a hard time keeping up, or something goes down, they are using something in the meantime. We see it a lot. We saw a house fire last year. We were called out to replace a lot of stuf
