LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Waterfront Botanical Gardens are once again lit up for Gardens Aglimmer.
This year marks the sixth year of the Christmas event, which features the botanical gardens decorated with more than 1 million points of light and displays.
According to the Botanical Gardens' Megan Bibelhauser, planning for Gardens Aglimmer starts early.
"This is a year-round process," Bibelhauser said. "Our horticulture team begins designing the lights and the displays much earlier in the year. They actually start installing the lights at the end of October."
Gardens Aglimmer features crafts for kids, a bar, themed nights, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus through Dec. 23.
About 12,000 people are expected to attend Gardens Aglimmer during the event's run through Jan. 3. According to Bi
