HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Stop & Shop announced it will not renew the lease for its store at 215 East Main Street in Clinton, with the location set to close by the end of 2026.

The grocery chain said the store was not meeting financial expectations, prompting the decision not to extend the lease agreement.

The Clinton store will continue operating through the end of 2026, giving customers and employees time to adjust to the closure.

Stop & Shop said all 100-plus associates at the Clinton location will be given the opportunity to transfer to other company stores.
