Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry appeared to hard-launch their relationship on Saturday, when the pop star posted a series of photos and videos that showed her getting close with the former prime minister while visiting Japan on tour.

Trudeau and Perry are seen smiling, cheeks touching, in one pic, and eating sushi together in a brief video.

The post came three days after Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida posted a photo on X of the pair next to him and his wife Yuko, in which he referred to Perry as Trudeau's "partner."

Trudeau reposted the photo , adding, "Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko."
