GPD Group is partnering with the city of Akron to expand the architecture and engineering firm's headquarters on the south side of downtown Akron.

The Akron city administration shared the plans with an Akron City Council committee and the media Dec. 8.

If passed by Council, the deal would include the acquisition of the Spaghetti Warehouse building and Goodrich Buildings 24 and 25.

GPD Group and the city of Akron have announced plans to keep the south end of downtown Akron as the former's headquarters.

Along with that, the partners aim to grow employment at the company and advance the area economy and infrastructure in the process, according to a Dec. 8 joint news release from the city administration and GDP Group.
