FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (WABI/WAGM) - A home was destroyed by fire Monday morning in Fort Fairfield.

It happened on Fort Hill Street.

As of Monday evening, officials have not said what may have caused the fire.

Authorities said once the fire was out, the home was torn down to help put out the remaining embers and hot spots.

The Red Cross is assisting those who were affected by the fire.
