CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Researchers at UVA Health have uncovered a previously unknown way that obesity contributes to high blood pressure, and it starts inside the blood vessels themselves.
The team found that smooth muscle cells lining blood vessels release an inflammatory substance called tumor necrosis factor, or TNF.
