Another 29 electric buses will operate across the North East from early next year. Three busy routes, operated by Go North East, will go electric in 2026.

It will take the number of electric buses running in the region from 38 to 67. The move is part of North East Mayor Kim McGuinness ' plans to get rid of all diesel buses within a decade.
