MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) - A new development at Pinal Airpark is set to bring more than 300 jobs to Marana. The ribbon was cut on a project that will see the creation of new hangars operated by Ascent Aviation.
The hangars will be used to modify passenger planes into cargo planes, enhancing global product distribution. This project is anticipated to have a significant economic impact on the area.
"Probably 60 million on an annualized economic impact direct economic impact," David Querio, president and CEO of Ascent Aviation, said.
Querio highlighted the job creation aspect, noting the scale of employment opportunities.
"300 jobs 77,000 average compensation plus benefits you know that's 23 million in direct wages annually," Querio said.
