Two people were arrested on drug charges and found with nearly 40 pounds burnt copper following a traffic stop near Jim Sutton Road and U.S. 70.

Bobby Thomas, 45, of Greenville, and Virginia Stancil, 44, of Lenoir County, were each charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Sgt. Josh Garner, with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.
