CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - New Charlotte-Mecklenburg police chief Estella Patterson launched a new safety campaign last week focused on reducing crime in Uptown Charlotte during the holiday season.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said on Monday, Dec. 8, that “ Operation Safe Season ,” a multi-agency safety initiative, started on Friday, Dec. 5, and during the first weekend officers were able to remove a violent gang member with multiple felonies from the community.
Officials said that they also issued 126 citations, had 216 traffic stops, 18 arrests, seized over 300 grams of marijuana, seized 14 firearms, and issued four warnings, multiple violations reported by the Mecklenburg County ABC.
