WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Rock Regional Hospital in Derby is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, hospital leadership confirmed Monday.
Rock Regional CEO Ben Quinton said Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows the hospital to restructure its assets, giving leadership time to figure out a plan before being forced to close its doors.
Hospital leadership held an hour-long meeting with employees Monday. One employee said the hospital confirmed they received an eviction notice for Wednesday, Dec. 10, but Chapter 11 will allow them to keep the hospital open past that date.
Property tax issues
Sedgwick County real estate tax records show the building’s owners, CBC Derby LLC, were delinquent on their property taxes in 2024 to the tune of nearly $520,000.
CBC Derby LLC did not respond to a request for comment
