Syracuse, N.Y. — Heading into the season, all eyes were on Oriskany senior Eddie Wright to see if he could shoulder a revamped scoring load after the graduation of 1,000-point scorer Nicholas Hays .
Wright proved he has the scoring chops to take over the primary role in Monday’s boys basketball clash with Morrisville-Eaton.
Wright dropped a career-high 39 points to lead the Skyhawks to a dominant 74-45 victory over the Mavericks.

“It was a big loss losing Nick from last year,” Oriskany coach Marc Smith said. “We kind of were a one-two punch last year, and (Eddie) stepped up. We’re just trying to get other kids to step up and fill the void that was left by Nick.”
Wright didn’t just set
