CLEMSON, S.C. —
The Clemson football family is mourning the loss of a special fan who got an unforgettable moment with head coach Dabo Swinney.
Twenty-three-year-old Clemson fan Tron Foster has battled cancer and other medical ailments for most of his life.
"Tron started off with cancer when he was 6 years old," said his mother, Ashley Foster. "I found out he had a tumor on his right femur bone, went through treatment with that, two years, then came to the point where he had to get his leg amputated."
But that wasn't it.
"After the amputation went into remission, he had another hurdle where he developed acute myeloid leukemia," Foster said. "He had to have a bone marrow transplant."
He also suffered from skin cancer, and then, in July, another hurdle.
