TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Thanks to the opening of two new wide-body hangars at Ascent Aviation Services in Marana, hundreds of new jobs are being brought to southern Arizona.

Monday December 8th was the grand opening of the new hangars at Pinal airpark, that are hard to miss just off I-10. The 90,000 square foot structures are part of Ascent’s services to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services to various aircraft.

The $70 million investment will increase the company’s hangar capacity by 200%, allowing Ascent to handle more heavy maintenance.

And with the opening of the new hangars, many jobs will be added to the area, with an average salary of $77,000, which Town of Marana officials say will ultimately help strengthen Southern Arizona’s economy.
