WASHINGTON — DC residents are now waiting to see who will take over as the next Chief of Police.
“I was not totally surprised following the announcement by Mayor Bowser that she was not going to seek re-election,” said Robert Vinson Brannum, Chief’s Citizens Advisory Council Member, “Felt there would be a great deal of turnover of district officials. Just a matter of timing.”
Robert Vinson Brannum serves on the Chief's Citizens Advisory Council. He says whoever is chosen must be ready to balance what locals want and the pressures from the federal government.
“The relationship between DC, the federal government, and Congress is unique and carries a great deal of burden,” said Brannum.
