CLEMSON, S.C. —

After three seasons with the Tigers, Clemson junior cornerback Avieon Terrell declared for the NFL draft on Monday morning. He is a potential first-round pick next April.

"As a kid I watched my older brother AJ [don] the orange, purple and white and set a standard for our family," Terrell wrote on Instagram. " Seeing how much this University shaped him I couldn't wait for my turn."

Avieon's older brother, AJ Terrell, was a first-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. The younger Terrell hopes to follow in his brother's footsteps to the league.

Terrell led the Tigers this year with five forced fumbles and nine passes defensed, adding 48 tackles and three sacks.

Terrell is the first of several Tigers with looming draft decisions.
