The Lethbridge Hurricanes ended this past weekend with a splash on the trade front as they shipped 20-year-old captain Logan Wormald to the Spokane Chiefs for four draft picks on Sunday.
Wormald was drafted 45th overall in the 2020 WHL Draft by the Canes and had 243 points (99 goals,144 assists) in 266 regular season games and it was in 27 playoff games that he collected 14 points.
“Yeah, hard day,” said Hurricanes GM Peter Anholt to reporter on Monday, on how difficult it was to move Wormald.
“(He) represented us in so many good ways (with) leadership, competitiveness, hockey sense (and) got better even with his size being a bit of a negative, it never affected him in any way shape or form.”
