Jonathan Hale Says He Notified City Officials for Months About Hazardous Intersections

Police in Westwood arrested a crosswalk safety activist Sunday morning after he painted an unauthorized crosswalk at what he described as a dangerous intersection.

Jonathan Hale, who organizes with the group People’s Vision Zero, said officers handcuffed, searched, and detained him while he was in the middle of painting markings on the street. The incident happened in Westwood, he said, as the group continued a series of guerrilla-style crosswalk installations across Los Angeles.
