ADAMS TWP — The board of supervisors approved the township’s final contribution toward the current phase of Route 228 construction at its meeting Monday, Dec. 8.
The board approved a payment of $500,000, one of four payments it has made.
In total, Adams Township has to contribute around $2 million toward the Route 228 project, according to township manager Mike Tylka.
Adams is one of multiple townships along the route that is making financial contributions to the project.
“It’s the contribution to the current phase of Route 228 that is actively underway. The item that was approved tonight was the final one of those payments,” Tylka said.
Tylka said the Adams Township funds will go to the county, which will spend it on the project costs.
