The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 1:03 a.m. on Tuesday valid for Wednesday between 1 a.m. and 10 p.m. for Southern Erie and Crawford County.
"Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches. Southwest winds gusting as high as 35 mph," can be expected according to the weather service. "Snow may begin with a mix of some freezing rain tonight before transitioning to all snow overnight. The period of heaviest snow will be in the pre-dawn hours into the morning commute on Wednesday. Travelers may need extra time to reach their destinations on Wednesday morning the event will transition to a lake effect snow event on Wednesday night into Thursday.
