When Kate Olson and her boyfriend, Curtis Chastain, left New Hampshire for Missouri to visit family, they had no idea their trip would turn into every dog owner’s biggest fear.
They brought their Golden Retriever, Walter, along as always. But during a walk, Walter suddenly slipped out of his collar and ran off.
Despite hours of searching, Walter never returned.
The Long Hunt For Their Lost Dog
Volunteers from all over the area joined Olson and Chastain as they combed through Arnold, Missouri, looking for any trace of him.
The couple extended their stay by two weeks, hoping they could find him before returning home. When they finally had to leave, they felt crushed.
Walking away without Walter was a moment they never imagined facing.
