RENTON, Wash — Residents of the Renton Highlands have begun banding together in an effort to stop a series of bold mail thefts that have disrupted their neighborhood and left many anxious as the holiday season approaches.

The most recent incident occurred over the weekend, when thieves removed an entire multi-unit metal mailbox structure from the Maplewood area of Renton, the second such theft in the neighborhood in just a matter of months.

“This is, I think, the ninth one that I’ve personally had to replace at this point,” HOA board member and homeowner Aaron Hale said.
