People in the North East may need to brace themselves for some inclement weather , as Storm Bram brings yellow warnings from the Met Office for rain and wind. The weather agency has warned that the storm will bring 'strong winds and very heavy rain' to northern England.

On today's weather, the Met Office has said: " Heavy rain progressing northwards during the morning. The rain will become lighter and more intermittent during the afternoon, with drier spells in the east especially.

"Generally windy, with gales in exposure. Very mild, although the warmth tempered by the wind. The maximum temperature is 15 °C."
