The NCHSAA football state championship round has arrived .

Rivals Crest and Shelby are among the last 16 teams standing across North Carolina, advancing to the NCHSAA 5A and 3A state finals, respectively. Here’s a preview of their matchups with Hunt and Kinston, in addition to a prediction for both by reporter Joe L. Hughes II.

Last week: Crest defeated Hickory, 39-21, in the NCHSAA 5A West final. Hunt knocked off Northside-Jacksonville, 20-7, in the 5A East title game.
