Our preseason watchlist for Vermont high school boys hockey is in the works. But before that publication, it's now time for you — the reader — to cast your vote for the Burlington Free Press' boys hockeypreseason player of the year powered by Delta Dental.

After reaching out for confirmation from coaches and athletic directors around the state, we put together a list of Vermont's top returning boys hockey players based on recognition from last year's BFP All-State teams, the coaches' all-league squads and other names deserving of inclusion. Voting is open now and the ballot will close at 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 — just two days before the first Wednesday Hockey Night of the 2025-26 regular season.
