Bhubaneswar: The winter session of the Odisha Assembly was adjourned sine die on Tuesday by Speaker Surama Padhy, well short of the originally scheduled 29 sittings that were to run until December 31.

The House ran for 11 days during which Supplementary Budget of Rs 17,440 crore and some key bills were passed. ADVERTISEMENT

The session had begun on November 27 with a landmark address by President Droupadi Murmu.

On November 28, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who holds the Finance portfolio, presented a Supplementary Budget proposal of Rs 17,440 crore for the 2025-26 financial year to ensure effective implementation of priority welfare and development schemes. The Appropriation Bill for the additional supplementary budget was passed through a voice vote after a debate on Monday.
