Leiston entertain near neighbours Needham Market tonight at their Flannery Stadium ground in Victory Road, 7:45pm KO, as both sides look for a semi-final spot in this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup, writes Mike Bacon .
The two sides have been drawn against each other at this last eight stage, with the two team’s having won the Premier Cup between them in seven of the last eight years.
“It’s always a tough game against Needham and no quarter is ever asked or given,” Blues boss Chris Wigger said.
Both teams come into the game on the back of heavy weekend defeats, Leiston 1-4 at leaders Spalding and Needham 0-3 at home to Quorn.
The two teams met earlier in the season at Needham in a Southern League Central Premier Division clash that Leiston won 2-1 thanks to a late Joe McNeil goal. The
