Monroe Charter Township is buying new cameras for the Monroe Charter Township Volunteer Fire Department. The township also is considering updating its 52-year-old township hall.

At the Nov. 18 regular meeting, the township approved purchasing security cameras for fire vehicles and the main fire station at 15331 S. Dixie Highway.

Installation of vehicle cameras is underway. The bid proposal from Samsara is $21,195.90, payable over three years. The cost of cameras for the fire station will be determined.
