Michigan Supreme Court has reappointed First District Court Chief Judge Michael C. Brown to the Committee on Model Criminal Jury Instructions.
Brown will serve a three-year term on the committee. He has been a member for six years and currently chairs the 21-member committee, according to a community announcement.
The Committee drafts jury instructions that are required to be used in all criminal trials in Michigan. These instructions help jurors understand trial procedures, duties and Michigan law.
Brown has been a district court judge since 2018 and presides over the Monroe County Veterans Treatment Court. He also serves on the board of directors for the Holiday Camp and is involved in various community organizations, including Kiwanis, VFW Auxiliary-Post 1138, Ducks Unlimited, Monroe
