The Rutgers and Seton Hall basketball programs have run into a common scheduling problem over the years: It’s hard to get a high-major non-conference opponent to visit.

At least they have each other.

Starting in 2016, when Steve Pikiell took charge of the Scarlet Knights, the Garden State Hardwood Classic has sold out each time. Saturday’s meeting at the Prudential Center (8 p.m., Fox Sports 1) will be the series' ninth straight sellout.

Over the past 10 seasons, Seton Hall has sold out the 10,481-seat lower bowl eight times for non-conference games – five times for Rutgers and once each for Texas in 2021, Maryland in 2019 (total attendance: 13,313) and Michigan State in 2019 (14,501).
