CHARLES TOWN—A new holiday tradition will begin in one of Jefferson County’s most storied landmarks as the Jefferson Arts Council prepares to launch the inaugural Mildred’s Merry Market on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Happy Retreat.

Blending history, art and historical charm, the free event will showcase local artisans, traditional crafts, fine art, festive foods and the historical ambiance that defined gatherings during the Washington family’s era.
