Never let it be said that I leave any stone of controversy unturned. As with most of you, I have heard a lot about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program lately.

I don’t know a whole lot about the program and don’t want to form opinions about it or new legislation without exploring the facts. And, when I started my research to write this column, I also wanted to see what the positive impacts of the program might be, from both the human and economic angles.
