The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, December 9, put brakes on the Congress-led government's notification mandating one-day menstrual leave a month for working women. The high court has also demanded the state government's responde on one-day menstrual leaves to women.

The November 9 notification made provision for one-day paid menstrual leave per month to women employees aged between 18 and 52 years. The rule was to apply to every woman working in permanent, contractual and outsourced jobs.
