An Amazon warehouse and distribution center is on its way to Akron's Kenmore neighborhood.

Akron City Council voted 10-1 to allow the retail giant to build its 387,860-square-foot sub same-day fulfillment center at the former site of the Word Church, once the Akron Baptist Temple, at 2322 Manchester Road. The city's Planning Commission approved the plan in November . Ward 1 Councilperson Fran Wilson was the lone no vote.
