A Delhi court on Tuesday issued notice on a petition challenging a magisterial court’s refusal to order an FIR against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over her alleged inclusion in the 1980 electoral rolls, three years before she acquired Indian citizenship, reportedly using forged documents.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne of Rouse Avenue Courts sought responses from Gandhi and Delhi Police. The criminal revision petition was filed by Vikas Tripathi, who argued that Gandhi’s name was deleted from the rolls in 1982 and re-entered in 1983 using forged papers.
Senior Advocate Pavan Narang represented Tripathi. The matter is listed for hearing on January 6, 2026.
