According to the analysis of over 14,000 name changes through Deed Poll, Alex is the most popular, with more people in the UK choosing to take the name than any other in the past five years.
Olivia is the UK’s second most commonly adopted name, with Charlie , Alexander, and Ellie also popular. The analysis was conducted by name label manufacturer mynametags.com , and found names likes James, Michael, and Susan, topping the list of the most ditched.
Meanwhile, the classic British name Elizabeth appears on both lists, with almost as many people choosing to adopt the name as they do ditch it
