A "positive" deal has been struck that will see part of a town allotment to continue to operate while expanding the nearby football club.
The allotments next to Needham Market Football Club were set to close on October 11 after discussions between allotment holders and the operators, Needham Market & Barking Welfare Charities, broke down.
Needham Market Football Club has now confirmed that they have purchased the land for future use for small side pitches or car parking.
As part of the deal, for the next five years, half of the allotments will be allowed to remain.
Secretary of Needham Market Allotment Holders Association, Pam Rushbrook, says her group approves of the decision.
