Nothing is etched in stone and funding has yet to be secured but a new practice facility for wrestling at Penn State is in the talking stages.

The top-ranked Nittany Lions, winners of 12 of the last 14 NCAA Wrestling Championships under coach Cael Sanderson, work out in the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex attached to Rec Hall. They compete in Rec Hall and Bryce Jordan Center.

Improvements such as new locker rooms and hot and cold tubs have been made the past few years, and the room holds four mats, a small bleacher seating area for team meetings, some stationary bikes, a small conference room and an adjacent weight room also used for men’s and women’s volleyball.

Sanderson stressed at his Monday media access that the current facility is “great” and that “we’re blessed to have this facility.”
