Nicholas Hoult is "really looking forward" to reuniting with writer-director Tom Ford on his upcoming drama Cry to Heaven.

Last month, it was announced that the fashion designer-turned-director had assembled a star-studded cast including Hoult, Adele, Colin Firth and Aaron Taylor-Johnson for his movie adaptation of Anne Rice's 1982 novel.

Addressing the upcoming project at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia on Monday, Hoult shared that he couldn't wait to begin filming the drama next year.

"I'm really looking forward to being back on set with Tom," he said, reports Variety. "He's a wonderful director to work with. Just his attention to detail. His understanding of the emotions of the characters. He's written a really beautiful script, and it's a wonderful cast. So I'm really looking forward to working with everyone."

With Cry to Heaven, Ford reunites with Hoult and Firth, who both starred in his 2009 directorial debut A Single Man, as well as Taylor-Johnson, who appeared in his 2016 directorial effort Nocturnal Animals.

The fictional story follows two men, a Venetian noble and a castrated opera singer, whose lives become unexpectedly intertwined in 18th-century Italy. Ford adapted the novel for the screen and is reportedly self-financing the project.

Hoult will also star alongside music superstar Adele, who is making her acting debut, as well as George MacKay, Mark Strong, Paul Bettany, Hunter Schafer, Thandiwe Newton, and Adolescence breakout star Owen Cooper.

Filming will reportedly take place in London and Rome, Italy from January, and the movie is expected to be released in autumn 2026.
