Iwrite with mixed amusement and exasperation in response to Roxane Salonen’s most recent column, in which she takes it upon herself to speak for journalistic integrity.
There’s a reason the label above Ms. Salonen’s pieces says “Columns.” It’s because she is a columnist. Long ago, a Forum staffer explained to me that items published as opinion pieces are just that, and the Forum does no vetting of them for factual content. The first item in the Society of Professional Journalist’s Code of Ethics is “Seek Truth and Report It.” If Salonen is so concerned about accuracy, I would urge her to read something about “abortion–pill reversal” that has some basis in medical fact: the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists says of the minimal studies of this speculative procedure that
