Tata Electronics is working on building a large chip manufacturing factory in Gujarat and a chip assembly and testing plant in Assam.
New Delhi: In a major development that will propel India forward in the field of chip manufacturing, Tata Electronics has announced a significant partnership. Tata Electronics will become Intel’s first major customer for two large chip plants. This news is being seen as the beginning of chip manufacturing in India. Both companies are also preparing to manufacture AI-powered computers on a large scale for Indian users.
Currently, most chips in India are imported, but now, thanks to the government’s Semiconductor Mission and Tata’s new factories, India can become self-reliant in chip manufacturing.
