A growing number of events across the North East and County Durham have been cancelled or postponed as a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds is in place.
The Met Office warning, in place until Tuesday (December 9) at 3pm, predicts persistent and occasionally torrential downpours, with 20–40mm of rainfall expected widely and up to 80mm on higher ground.
As a result, several venues and organisers have moved to cancel or postpone events scheduled for today, prioritising safety for visitors, staff and performers.
One of those is AGLOW at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, which has cancelled tonight's event.
This is a round-up of all of the events cancelled, which we will add to throughout the day to reflect the cancellations and postponements across the region.
