A major plan to create a huge new town development called 'Liverpool North' is moving forward, with key new proposals for housing-led regeneration in parts of the city set to be given the green light.

Liverpool Council has been working on major plans for a 'new town' called Liverpool North for a while. This is despite a snub from government, who failed to include it in a list of planned new towns that it would support.

Despite the snub, Liverpool Council leader Liam Robinson and City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram vowed to continue with the region's individual new town vision - which they believe could result in 10,000 new homes.
